A personal best at Invictus Games Foundation: Cirrico innovations remove hurdles for Games organisers
Delivering Success
Background
Growing from a one-off event in 2014 to a global empowerment movement, the Invictus Games Foundation has achieved rapid expansion, nurturing thousands of relationships from event partners to sponsors and host organisations. As the custodians of the Invictus Games, the Foundation needed take stock of its growth to keep up the momentum and called on Cirrico to help.
The Invictus Games Foundation was working to further strengthen its social impact – shining a spotlight on the heroism of servicepeople worldwide and showcasing an empowering vision of disability which so often goes unseen in mainstream media. Holding it back, was outgrown technology.
To shot-put the Foundation to success, we interrogated the systems, processes, working preferences and ambitions at play. We identified that switching thousands of records from Excel to Salesforce using our Nonprofit Success Pack and Sales Cloud would shave hours of time from the completion of regular tasks, streamline manual activities and ultimately help the charity to go for gold.
But as any good sportsman knows, training and dedication – not equipment – build a great athlete. Our bespoke training ensured that everyone at Invictus Games Foundation fully understood the functions and the firepower of the technology we introduced. We never leave a customer until we’re confident that its workforce is inspired and enabled to use our technology to its full capacity.
Solution
By migrating thousands of records from multiple Excel-based databases to a state-of-the-art Salesforce CRM, we removed clunky processes and eliminated the possibility of GDPR breaches. Invictus Games Foundation staff can now view contact details, communication history, meeting notes and contact preferences in a single view, whether in the office or on the move thanks to a cloud-based system.
The creation of a possible duplicate record triggers an alert, and any changes made by team members with adequate permissions update across the board. This new system has transformed the daily working practices of the team, creating time and preserving energy to focus on making an impact by further developing the Games.
Summary
Invictus Games Foundation harnesses the power of sport to inspire recovery and support the rehabilitation of injured, wounded, and sick service personnel, and generates a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country. Its drive to do good in the world matches our own. Although we know this is a marathon – not a sprint – the right combination of people, innovation and training brings the realisation of those aspirations so much closer.
