One of the biggest benefits of working within the Salesforce ecosystem is the plethora of resources available. Despite the recent challenges being presented to us with the outbreak of COVID-19, there is now the opportunity to come together as a community and share valuable resources to help continue the important work being carried out by our customers.

“This moment reminds us that we’re all connected like never before” as Marc Benioff, Salesforce Chair and CEO, stated in his letter to the Salesforce community.

With government advice being for all employees to work from home, many organisations were posed with the challenge of having to quickly discover how to facilitate this request. Fortunately, many suppliers within the Salesforce ecosystem have provided free resources to make the transition as stress-free as possible.

Here is an outline of the services available to keep your team productive.

Free Conferencing by Vonage

  1. Vonage, a global cloud communications service provider, has various products which are currently free to use, including an instant SMS service to deliver updates on the pandemic

  2. The main free product is their video conferencing service which does not require any downloads or integrations.

  3. All you need to do to access the conference is to follow this link with no sign-up or payment required

  4. A meeting name is randomly generated and once the name is shared, your team can join the meeting

It is inevitable that meetings have to take place, with this reliable tool your team can meet and communicate, with up to 16 people able to join the meeting at a time. You also have the opportunity to screen share. Even though the team is not in the same room, you can still communicate effectively.

Free collaboration tool by Quip

  1. Salesforce announced that they are giving away 50 free licences of Quip for all customers including non-profits

  2. Quip is a tool which aims to boost collaboration. There is no longer a need to limit yourself to one type of document, Quip allows features of different document types including, to-do lists, spreadsheets and built-in chat to be within one document

  3. Members of the team can assign tasks, tick off completed work and ask questions

  4. Quip is an excellent tool to manage all elements of a project in one place, particularly when different members across teams have an input

  5. You can sign up for your free licenses here

How is Covid-19 impacting your organisation with Tableau

  1. Every organisation within the Salesforce ecosystem recognises the importance of data

  2. Tableau, a business intelligence company providing software to visualise and share data, has developed a free data resource hub to help organisations see and understand coronavirus data in near real-time

  3. Based on data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the resource hub enables you to see how the virus could impact your organisation

  4. With appropriate and accurate data, Tableau hopes organisations will be able to effectively plan how to protect their business. The data provided can also be blended with individual companies data to effectively monitor the situation.

  5. Register for the resource hub here

Manage your well being with Trailhead

  1. With Salesforce’s ongoing commitment to education, the team has created a new Trailmix to provide advice on working from home and managing your well-being

  2. The publically available resource provides individuals with facts, videos and then tests understanding with a simple Q&A. If you are already active on Trailhead, this particular mix can help generate 1,600 points

  3. Trailheads are a great way to add to your knowledge with relatable and digestible pieces of content

Despite the uncertain times, it is clear that the Salesforce community can work together to ensure all employees and customers have the tools they need to succeed.
