"How can I be sure that I’m getting the best out of my Salesforce platform?"

One of the things we are constantly asked at Cirrico is “how can I be sure that I’m getting the best out of my Salesforce platform?”

We asked the Cirrico team to share their insights and knowledge with you so you can get the best ideas here.

Upskilling and constantly learning
Make sure that whoever is in charge of the platform has the time to spend at least a day a week for upskilling, mooching around on trailhead, and time to attend Salesforce User Groups.

Utilise and engage with the Salesforce community. There are many online forums and communities where Salesforce users can share tips, ask questions, and get advice from others who are using the platform. You can find a link to the nonprofit user groups here.

Be a part of innovative and decision making conversations
In order to get the best from your Salesforce platform, whoever owns the platform needs to be included in meetings and conversations which includes chats about the overarching strategy, innovation and anything that is related to growth. Being a part of these chats will allow you to have a good understanding of how you can use Salesforce to power your organisations work better.

Listen up managers!
Make sure the system is acting as a tool which your team cannot do their jobs without, rather than a fancy notebook that they have to hastily fill in at the end of the week as they don’t regularly use Salesforce. If you need additional training for new starters or people who’ve not adopted the system as well as others, book in some training for them. Our team loves training people on how to use Salesforce as it makes such an impact on their work long-term!

Work with a partner who understands your organisations goals

Raj Sitladin advises: “Work with a Salesforce partner (like Cirrico!) to help you maximise the value of your Salesforce platform. A Partner can provide expert guidance and support to help you get the most out of the platform. Another tip, customise the platform to meet your specific needs. Salesforce is highly customisable, so take the time to tailor the platform to your unique business processes and requirements.”

Will Dyer (pictured with Einstein) works in our Managed Services team and helps organisations do just this everyday, no matter what your organisations size or type we can help and guide you on your Salesforce journey.

Make it fun, and train everyone!
Remember when you were in school and you got to do a cool science experiment where you learnt so much by being hands on?

Well, having hands on, real time training with one of our Senior Salesforce Consultants will allow your team members the time to harness and grow their Salesforce knowledge. Allowing for better use of the platform.

We know that having training pays off massively. Team members who know how to do the basics and have a greater understanding of how to use Salesforce for every aspect of their job, have the best outcomes and ultimately save the most amount of time.

Lift the bonnet and get an MOT every year
Just like cars, Salesforce benefits from having an expert lift the bonnet once a year. Otherwise known as a Health Check. This is valuable as it will  let you know what could be improved upon to allow for more effective ways of working to save you time, money and help you scale.

We create a list of ‘need to have’ and ‘nice to have’ for our customers when we work through a ‘A Health Check’ aka MOT . Contact Cirrico if this is something you’d like more information on.
