Five Minutes With Ellie Breden, A Cirrico Senior Salesforce Consultant
Hey, I’m Ellie. I’m a born and bred Brightonian, currently loving a quiet life on the edge of the Peak District after having enough of London a few years ago. I joined Cirrico in November 2020.
Any weird or wonderful facts we should know about?
Errrm… I can write upside down! I guess that’s fairly weird.
What is your role at Cirrico?
I’m a Senior Salesforce Consultant. I get to design, discover, build, test, deliver training for, and launch Salesforce projects with our clients. I’m driving the project from A-Z whilst doing all I can to ensure everyone’s as happy as possible with their new system!
How did you get into tech?
I was encouraged to interview for an entry level role at a digital marketing startup by my friend in 2014, and assumed I’d never get the role as I had zero experience (and had to Google every word on the company’s website to try to understand what they did.) To my surprise, I got offered the role on the spot and moved up to London 2 weeks later. I was meant to be an administrator for the sales team but was quickly aligned to implementing eCommerce marketing tools and digital ads for customers. I then ended up overseeing business analysis for the company’s global Salesforce implementation in 2016, after my constant process enhancement suggestions got me an interview to join the operations department. I moved into Salesforce consulting shortly afterwards, and here we are!
What was your inspiration to work in tech for social impact?
I believe organisations working for change should have the same access to powerful technology as profit-making organisations.
What do you do for fun when you aren’t changing the world at Cirrico?
Throw barbells around, scare myself to death trying to mountain bike, and stomp about the Peaks getting muddy with my dog. I’ll also typically have a random research project I’m obsessed with every few months, so spend a huge amount of time reading.
If you were a piece of technology, what would it be/do?
I’d be an automatic tennis ball launcher, as it’d make my dog happy and give my arm a break.
